My Love For Great Gatsby

1920's and Great Gatsby clothing style (3)

It seemed to me that the whole world was talking about the great gatsby movie when it first got released. I on the other hand had no clue what movies were out at the cinema because of my very hectic schedule. When i heard that Leonado Dicaprio starred in the movie i was excited to watch it..but i was more excited when i learnt it was based in the 1920's. That was when i knew i had to watch the movie.

Unfortunately, the movie ended up being the saddest thing i have watched in a long time. For me, the summary of the movie goes like this: A man falls in love with a woman he could never have...made friends with people that only loved him for his money...and then gets killed by a total stranger for protecting this same woman who by the way, ended up leaving town with her family and never showed up at his funeral. In fact, no one showed up at his funeral..not even the well dressed elites who drank all the free champagne. Only one man did...someone he probably would have never imagined would. This goes to show that in life, we dont really need that many friends..one or two real friends is all one needs and not a bunch of people that will love you when things are going great for you and dump you like a bad habit when things are not.

OKAY! back to the reason for this post. I love vintage fashion. I love everything vintage...from fashion to furnitures to architecture. I my friends was born in the wrong decade. Anyway, here are a few glamorous looks i adore :)

The men were dressed as nicely as the women. I am loving the fitted suits paired with hats look. As for the women, one can never go wrong with sequins, pearls and fur. if you follow this blog you would have experienced my undying love for such pieces as a self professed collector of all things vintage. hope you like this images as much as i do.

Cheers to the weekend
