Glam Shot: Gaga

Lady Gaga wears a luxurious, furry robe and a crown as she leaves her hotel in Toronto

I have never been a fan of lady gaga's style. Its never been my cup of tea. However, she is looking absolutely stunning in this ensemble. I am a sucker for vintage fashion and accessories and gaga slayed this look right here. A lovely twist to the trendy 'white' colour this summer. J'adore

Hey there...My lady!

The second week of September was an awesome one mainly because it was my birthday weekend and i had a lovely time even though i spent majority of my time in the lab. I also had a wedding to attend that weekend and to date, thats the classiest wedding i have been to. I love attending weddings that are done with taste and simplicity and then comes out effortless. Not everyone can easily pull that off. Anyway, this is what i wore to the wedding. By now any one who knows me knows i was born in the wrong decade so this is no surprise. The brooch on me was nicked off my boyfriend..he has an impressive collection of antique brooches. The velvet dress has a 'U' shaped open back (not seen) and a fish fin peplum which i absolutely adore.

I paired this outfit with my tan court shoes made with patent leather. I am currently obsessing over court shoes. Anything timeless gets my attention. I hope you like.

My Love For Great Gatsby

1920's and Great Gatsby clothing style (3)

It seemed to me that the whole world was talking about the great gatsby movie when it first got released. I on the other hand had no clue what movies were out at the cinema because of my very hectic schedule. When i heard that Leonado Dicaprio starred in the movie i was excited to watch it..but i was more excited when i learnt it was based in the 1920's. That was when i knew i had to watch the movie.

Unfortunately, the movie ended up being the saddest thing i have watched in a long time. For me, the summary of the movie goes like this: A man falls in love with a woman he could never have...made friends with people that only loved him for his money...and then gets killed by a total stranger for protecting this same woman who by the way, ended up leaving town with her family and never showed up at his funeral. In fact, no one showed up at his funeral..not even the well dressed elites who drank all the free champagne. Only one man did...someone he probably would have never imagined would. This goes to show that in life, we dont really need that many friends..one or two real friends is all one needs and not a bunch of people that will love you when things are going great for you and dump you like a bad habit when things are not.

OKAY! back to the reason for this post. I love vintage fashion. I love everything vintage...from fashion to furnitures to architecture. I my friends was born in the wrong decade. Anyway, here are a few glamorous looks i adore :)

A Vintage summer

I love vintage clothing. They are unique, well made and last a lifetime. In this post i am wearing vintage from head to toe. I have managed to collect quite a lot of vintage pieces as my love started probably a decade ago. This is the outfit i wore to church today and then i popped into my favourite cafe to have a smoothie.

Beads, Sequins and Faux Fur

I went to East London for a friends surprise birthday drinks on Saturday. It felt really good to be back in the East end after so many years. I hardly recognized the place. It brought back memories of all the adventures i and my besties experienced during our undergraduate years. Anyway, i wore this Vintage beaded sequin top i love so much. Paired it with skinny jeans from Topshop and my ever so dependable suede peeptoe shoes i got from the Zara store in Thailand :). I decided to accessorize with this faux fur to get that classy yet Glam look. Red lips, right pout..and i was out the door :)

Mirror Mirror

Last weekend was the final fitting of my friends wedding dress. Yay!  I am happy because she finally has a wedding dress she loves and i have been a helpful chief bridesmaid. I also organised her bridal shower with two themes: 'breakfast at tiffany's' for daytime and 'sex and the city' for night time. More information on that later..i hope lol. Anyway i indulged in a little bit of vanity in the bridal shop. Those mirrors were tempting and i just could not resist haha.
