Art on a Birkin?

Beautiful handbags are an amazing accessory to add to any outfit. I am all for splurging on a nice bag but only if i am absolutely crazy about the design. Birkins, have now become a must have item for all splurging fashionistas out there. Birkins have a $10,000-plus price tag and a legendary waiting list, which is why it is not surprising that the high demand has created a market out there for fake birkins.

I have never understood why people are so crazy about birkins..and would probably never understand why. Beauty they say is in the eyes of its beholder. What totally goes over my head however, is birkin customisation using graffiti or some other kind of 'art'. That totally eludes me.

I understand that if people have spent thousands of dollars on a handbag, with money they have worked hard for, then they should be allowed to do whatever they wish. However, i think graffiti/art on a birkin is just tacky and quite frankly, very annoying to look at. People do crazy things to stand out or to be different but the ones that usually are different/ stand out, do so quite effortlessly.

What do you think? Do you think this is tacky or the ultimate tag of luxury?

Dior fashion film

dior, secret garden, short film, versailles, secret garden 2 - versailles, daria

I have never been so crazy about fashion films and its probably because none got me so inspired. When i watched the Dior short film 'secret garden 2 -Versailles', i was very impressed, very excited and very inspired.  I found it dreamy, mysterious and quite romantic. I absolutely love the creativity..from the model in arabesque up in trees to the gold chandeliers suspended from trees.

Another aspect i quite liked was the obvious inspiration from 'the luncheon on the grass' which was the greatest work by Edouard Manet painted in 1863.

I wish i could get all those pieces in the images..my wish list keeps getting unattainable. Times like this is when one needs a fairy Godmother or hermione granger's magic wand. Enjoy the short film :)

Fela zombie

I love tee shirts. I can easily dress them up or dress them down and they are my go to item of clothing when I want to feel comfortable espcially when I have to go to the lab. My favourite tee shirt label is Literati which is Nigerian owned and all types of my amazing. Their Fela zombie t-shirt is my absolute favourite. I love the creativity and the skeletal look of Fela's face and the best part is, it glows in the dark. I paired my T-shirt with a boyfriend blazer, pair of black jeans and my Dalmatian flats. Absolutely comfortable.
